4:29pm: It's been a while
Yeah maybe it seems like I've neglected this thing. I have an excuse though ! I've been seriously busy. Anyway, during Easter I went to Lanzarote for 10 days and no wonder why people from north Europe select Canary Island as destination for their winter vacation. We left from 7 degrees in UK and they had 24-27 degrees. Sunny weather and stuff... I got tanned :-) I really enjoyed that. Espacially if you count three years without sumer vacation for different reason each year.

I hope now that I can escape for a couple of weeks during the summer as well.

Eurovision!

my top songs were : norway, israel, moldova, spain, azerbaijan... so well done Norway!

I wonder why Spain got so few points O_o ... anyway apart from the high tech part of the show, I think there was no significant interesting melodies in this year's songs. Greece had one song that I don't even know how they decided to send it at the first place. Maybe inspiration is over?

I will try to post some pics from holidays when I have more time...

Bye for now!

11:27pm: Happy Valentine's Day everybody
I have been busy and lazy lately. So I have totally neglected this thingy here. I don't even log-in as often as I used to in the past. Well most of the guys in my friend list seem to be as inactive as me so I guess everything is OK ... hehe!

What worries me most lately is about my procrastinating side of me which seems to be able to take me over sometimes and totally destroy any hope for productivity. I even saw one website that somebody said that it took him 22 years to finish his PhD due to various procrastinating stuff. 22 years! I don't have that much time! LOL That's ridiculous. Anyway I got scared a bit from this.

My first year exam is approaching and I feel I am totally unprepared! arghh

8:54pm: helloooo
where is everybody? Hehe it's been a while but here I am sitting in front of the computer writing an ernty for this LJthingy! wow isn't it exciting? (put some british accent and you'll get to the point). Anyway, I moved out from the student hall where I was living for the past 5-6 months. I'm renting now an appartment with my gf.

The benefit is that it's good. The downfall is that it's part of an old building and actually there is a lot of humidity, which practically means... the house is damn cold! and we all know how the weather in england is like don't we? Rainy!

Well OK it can't be that bad can it? ;/ I'm looking forward for christmas. I want to go to greece and have a break. I feel all these late months have been a huge brainstretcher. So yeah projectwise I'm having some progress but it's very early to tell anything yet.

Btw this thingy here is pretty much deserted don't you think?

11:29pm: Dreams
Speaking of dreams. Today I saw that I was a black guy in my dreams! Ahm OK not that I have any racist insticts etc. but guys I can assure you it was the most confusing ever dream I had in my life? I think I was like in panic! I was thinking oh boy it's one more life and now I have to live it as a black! Like suddenly I was imprisonned in a black body (didn't check the downtown instrument though :-) ). Aghhh!

Maybe I'm a bit stressed lately? I'm looking for a house and damn you have to consider a lot of parameters, money, area, proximity to your work, new/old building, nice/bad landlord, type of contract. And the worst thing is that you are all the time over the phone arranging vieweings! It's so fucking time consuming duuuuuude ! I give up!

:-) OK maybe not yet :P

10:38pm: Computers are a bless and a curse
Ok it's gonna be an unfocused, random ranting this one. I really admit that technology is really helping us to improve the quality of life. But on the other hand doesn't it provide you with some of the worst time stealers? I mean look at yourselves... how many times have you spent hours and hours replying to small emails, or myspace messages, or chatting with friends, or arranging some short holidays and checking online about ticket prices, hotels, or gosh getting stuck in news portals, or even worse YouTube (YOUTUBE I HATE YOU AND I LOVE YOU!! hahaha)

On the other hand I'm thinking that in the past guys who had to find information or papers related to certain subjects might have spent hours and hours in libraries, keeping notes, photocopying and stuff. Now you're only a double (or a single if you are a macOSX user :-P ) click away from the information and resources you need.

All I'm trying to say is that I'd like to have that discipline and go to bed at 11:00 in the night and not stay up till late watching lame videos in youtube. I know you don't deserve this entry but anyway I have to publicly admit that I don't have total control over my behaviour and it seems like technology owns me O_o... I'm sick , I'm sick ... ok enough, let's see what was this commercial again in YouTube? ;-)

5:33pm: zeitgeist
Well if you have two hours free and you have nothing better to do watch this movie. Disclaimer: if you are a hardcore religious or patriot and/or still believe 9/11 was done by terrorists, let it go. Don't watch it (I don't want to start writing shit back to me... thanks :-) ) I do welcome comments of those who will watch it though... So here is the link (there are subtitled movies as well), enjoy!

1:48am: And that's my personal preference: Hu Ha! :D
Once again Finland sent a metal group in the ESC, the group Teräsbetoni with the song Missä miehet ratsastaa. Scandinavia is somewhat the center for metal / black metal/ gothic metal in Europe.

1:30am: Winner song of the Eurovision Song Contest 2008
Russia was the winner country of this year's ESC. The singer's name is Dima Bilan. This is his second participation in the ESC. His first one was two years ago (2006) in Athens where he got the second place. Let's hope that Russia won't patricipate in the contest with him every other second year :D. Peak of the video comes at 3:30 reminding us that we are watching the eurovision song contest which practically means that the singers have to end up at least semi naked :D. Enjoy :-)

10:45pm: But really guys
when you hear the term macedonia doesn't it bring to your mind the ancient macedonia? Why should a country that was called Vardar province in the former Yugoslavia start looking for a new name and adopt a new hisotry? I agree that they live in a piece of the land of the ancient macedonia, but you know living in Berlin doesn't make you automatically German, alhtough you can be called Berlin-er...

9:13pm: by the way
what happened with cindikiss85 ? ;-)
7:52pm: I started my Permanent HeaDache
so the situation is as follows. You turn on a virtual hover that sucks information and knowledge and connect it with your brain. Consequently, you feel there is a massive input of information on a daily basis exhausting your neurons. Suddenly you are exposed to this ammount of information and this kind of knowledge that they don't teach you in the undergraduate or even master's level , just because all that stuff is "out of the scope" of this sort of studies...

I can't say it's not doable or it's hard. It's just a different stage of education/work or/and life. This is where I'm standing upon and the way I feel. Headache ;/ Quality of life in one's free time is important in this stages of life, where you feel totally sucked from your work.

Today I was going to the uni and there was some construction going on at some block nearby my house and saw a worker just leaning against a wall doing nothing. Just staring at the people passing by. And then I thought "what is really a good job?" I mean probably there are jobs out there you can do even if you are braindead and then you have enough money to spend on beers or walking around the strip clubs with your friends ;-) doesn't that sound better? :-P

21st March 2008

12:07am: After a long time
So I moved out totally from Germany and settled down to England, Manchester. I'm gonna spend the next three years of my life over here. Again I am trying to set up things from the scratch and trying to get started with my new life and "job". I also updated my livejournal profile. So I am a resident of England now, whatever that means :-D

3:28pm: Ok that will be fast
I just got an email today and it seems like I got the offer for the PhD position in Manchester. They want me to reply till February 1st if I will accept the offer or not. Wow I mean everything happened so quickly. I still have a trauma with Copenhagen. I liked the city so much, I like Denmark as a country, but Manchester is a nice city too, the university is prestigious and overall sounds like a great opportunity. So I'm more likely moving to Manchester in a few months! :D

23rd January 2008

5:12pm: England-wise
So yeah, I think I didn't have the time to say that I'd travel to England for an interview. That was in Manchester. What can I say, Manchester is a great city. I liked the street vibes you get when you walk around. Also there are a lot of parks and green areas. Of course I was like "OMG" when I took the taxi and the driver was sitting on the right side of the car and likewise when I realised that we are driving on the left side of the roads :-) I think you need a lot of time to get used to this system. The traffic lights for the pedestrians are also different. You can only see the red or green light next to you. You don't see anything if you look at the other side of the street. I don't know why they have this kind of traffic light. Ok I put the rest of the entry in an LJ crap cut because there are a lot of pics and complaining )

11th January 2008

7:58pm: Happy New Year people!
I know that I haven't updated like for ages. But time has become my biggest enemy lately. I am sick and I also feel sick. These two days I decided I'm gonna stay in bed, trying to recover. When I get up it seems like everything in my head it is twisting, I feel cold even if I wear fou layers of clothes in my room with the heater at maximum, my throat hearts and I also have headaches.

The new thing is that I don't really know what is my status, single or taken. I met a girl from spain over here. Now she's gone back home for 2,5 weeks. We've been together for something like 2 weeks and probably there is one more month for us after she comes back and before I get out of here for ever. Probably these are the small sad stories of life. Many other people have experienced something similar I guess before me. We somehow know that probaly there is no future in the story ater I leave and maybe this is what makes it more intense.

For sure the world is small but it is better when your soulmate is in the neighborhood right? Distance somehow screwed my previous relationship as well...
